We're almost a month away from a very big event for Kamia Portraits. Aisha: She Who Lives is near! If you read my previous blogs then you know how epic this event is going to be. Also, if you follow me on my social media, then you've already seen three pieces that represents what Aisha is going to be all about! One of those three pieces will be up on display for purchase.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EXHIBIT?
During the exhibit we're going to have our own personal sound track, that was produced by my husband (Sable McWilliams). This sound track is African inspired, just as the rest of the exhibit. I'll have 10 pieces of my work up on display for the public to view and purchase (if interested) plus additional copies of the prints. I'll also have additional prints from other pieces of work that I took to view and/or purchase.
While this event is a Photography exhibit, I'll have pieces of poetry that I wrote to express each image in depth. These pieces of poetry was influenced by African American culture, Mother-hood as a black woman and inner battles that African American women face.
Small refreshments will be served. I'll be booking sessions on this night for anyone who's interested. Everyone who attends will earn a 10% discount on their next session with Kamia Portraits. And everyone who purchases a photography piece will be gifted a mini photography session.
" Aisha is a contemporary twist on African style. This exhibit consist of portraits that capture the raw emotions of African American women. Kamia has created a larger than life portrayal of the modern African women. Each piece of art will be expressed through photography and poetry." - Shelby
Everyone is invited to enjoy a night full of Art, Music and Poetry! Make sure to hastag #KamiaPortraitsAishaProject or #ASWL for reposts!
