While preparing for my first photography exibit I decided to start preparing my first poetry book. The name "Aisha" in Africa means to live or she who lives. I went with this name because as women we face a lot of challenges but we continue to live and push forward.
The book contains 10 poems that were written by me. Two of which were influenced by African Cultural. Bina is one of those two poems. The meaning behind the name Bina is a female dancer. I describe her within the short poem. The second poem that was influenced by African Cultural is Dianthus. Dianthus is another word for a type of flower. In this poem I use a flower to decribe a young black girl who's name means flower in Africa.
In this book also, I wrote poems petaining to my own personal expereinces far as depression, dealing with the death of my father and my opinion on black lives matter. I strongly believe these poems stand out the most because of the emotions that were behind them as I wrote them.
