On Friday I unplugged from social media to get myself together and with hopes that others would to! Even though I've only been a way for a little while, honey I feel so refreshed! God is really working through me and around me!
While away, I spent time communicating with a close friend/ mentor and big sister of mines who encouraged me to watch what I post! I also started a daily routine filled with prayer and readings! In the mist of all of this I went through my social media accounts (primarily my business ones) and I cleaned those babies OUT! Anything that wasn't encouraging or I posted for the wrong intentions, I got rid of it!
If you've checked out my website, then you know it has changed to! Honey, NEW ME SO IT'S NEW EVERYTHING! I know my husband is about sick of me coming up with new ideas. But I can't help it! While working towards changing myself and who I am as a woman of God, I wanted EVERYTHING connected to me to have a fresh start.
I am focusing on my relationship with God, encouraging others and showing love towards the people who love me. This week has taught me that I can't stop people from watching what I'm posting, waiting to respond but I can watch what I post and don't respond at all!
Instead of posting via social media, I wanted to do a update through my blog. For three days now I've been reading Proverbs 15. This book is primary speaking on good vs evil and also how you should carry yourself as a righteous child of God. For me, Proverbs 15:1 was meant for me. Often times we cause ourselves to become angry because of how we speak. If I'm cussing people out every chance I get, this is not helping me have a positive spirit, it's creating an angry individual. But if I talk calmly to a person (regardless of how they may be speaking to me) this causes me to NOT become angry because I'm controlling how I respond and what comes out of my mouth (as mentioned earlier in the blog).
Change starts with you! You can not control other people but you can control you and how you react to certain situations and certain people.
I challenge you to unplug! Take this time to spend time with your family and spend time with yourself and God! Don't worry about who's talking about you and who you'll lose in the process. Put your focus on him and he will lead you in the right direction.
