Today, I decided to practice taking pictures in Manual Mode. I'm so use to shooting in Program I've really been missing out on the most amazing setting on my camera ever!
Manual Mode allows you to have more control over the Shutter Speed, ISO and other settings on your camera. Here is a before and after photo I've taken today, just simply playing with my settings.
The Shutter Speed was set to 1/2000 since I was in shade. I set the ISO to 12800, Aperture was set on 5.6 using my Nikon 55-200 mm lens. I used my brother as my assistant. He took a cup of water and splashed it over my handsome 4 year old model's head. The after is amazing! I normally shoot in RAW format but today I decided to use JPEG instead. I loaded these images in Photoshop and I added some lighting to it. I also went in and adjusted some curves and levels.
When I tell you these two images are my favorite! I love this one. I do think I could have used less exposure to this image but it's still beautiful. I used the same settings that I used on the above pictures but I edited a little different. I went into Photoshop and I messed with my Selective Colors. I also used my Clone Stamp tool to take out my assistants hand. Check out this awesome after:
Today I really enjoyed watching him play in the water and I also enjoyed learning and playing with Manual Mode. Keep in mind the higher your Shutter Speed the quicker you'll be able to capture a still image. These images were captured with my Nikon D3300. I've been using this camera since 2016.
Let me know what do you think about these images? Leave a comment below and also share this with someone.
